Exciting weeknd

Races this weekend
Ice Racing Alaska’s oval track will be open with the lights on Friday night January 6th after sunset for organized practice, $10.00 per sled for unlimited night time test and tune.
The race club is also looking for a new announcer as our old one has recently moved on, a special thanks to him as he will be missed. We are looking for a male or female possibly even two people for this weekends night races, this could turn into a permanent volunteer position as having an PA system running at the races makes things more exciting than they already are plus it is a great way to give back to our sponsors please help spread the word, thanks Josh.

We Invite You to Saturday Night Under The Lights

Ice Racing Alaska Is Putting on two events this weekend. Saturday Night under the Lights Starts at 7:00 Pm and Sundays race that starts 12:30Pm like most of our races. Last Year was the first time ever Alaskans had seen and Ice Racing Snowmobile Event under stadium lights. We had great feed back by racers, the community and sponsors. Last year it took multiple hours per day a week in advance to Plow, and flood the ice. Then Saturday we had to move six big construction Lights to the Race Track Set them up adjust them when it got dark before the races started. Then we had to set up the Race Official stand and all the Banners and signs. It might sound easy but it’s easier said than done. This year will be the second time we do Saturday Night Under The Lights. We are trying to get a Little more light out this year if possible and make the pits and the races more Enjoyable for Everyone who Participates from the Riders to the Crowd. But In order to make everything run smoothly we are borrowing a motorhome from Big Lake Powersports
so we can set up Friday and watch over our equipment through the night. We are looking for Burn Barrels or burn pits that sit off the ground and won’t melt the Ice because we are more than likely putting the 500 mile course at the end of the year over the top of these spots. We are hoping that we can get 3 to 5 Burn spots closest to the track on the edge of the pits to provide warmth for our spectators while trying to get a better view of the competition. We are also looking for firewood etc. We are renting at least four big Construction lights and we are putting 1 on each corner of the Oval Track. We are also looking for as many as we can find, of 500 watt Flood Lights and 50 to 100 foot Extension cords that we can Put on the snow berm really close to the track so the ice is Lit up under the Snow fog as well. If anyone has any of this supplies that they will let the club borrow, we would gladly appreciate it. We will tag all the supplies so they get back to the rightful owner. We would also be completely held responsible for anything we are Loaned if you are Interested contact Mike Estes at 892-8417.

P.S. One more time we are looking for Burn Barrels, 500 watt flood Lights, 50-100 Ft Extension cords. Please let us know if you can help out in any way. We hope to keep Racing Alive and thriving in our community and to bring our local companies business. Thanks Again Ice Racing Alaska.
